HotelRunner Expands its Footprint with PayPad Acquisition

In a strategic move to bolster its presence in the travel and hospitality technology sector, HotelRunner, a leading industry technology provider, has recently completed the acquisition of PayPad, a Türkiye-based point-of-sale (POS) provider. While the financial specifics of the deal remain undisclosed, the merger marks a significant development in the realm of hospitality technology.

Founded in 2016 by Veysel Berk, PayPad has been catering to the needs of the retail and hospitality sectors. With a customer base extending across the UK, Spain, the United States, and its home turf, Türkiye, PayPad has established itself as a key player in the industry. Now, PayPad’s POS product has undergone a transformation, emerging as “HotelRunner POS,” aligning itself with HotelRunner’s vision.

HotelRunner, as its name suggests, specializes in providing comprehensive solutions for the travel and hospitality sector. It operates as a multifaceted platform, encompassing sales, operations, distribution management, and serving as a B2B network for accommodations, travel agencies, and payment providers. With the acquisition of PayPad, HotelRunner expands its offerings to include an onsite point-of-sale component, enhancing its suite of services.

Veysel Berk, the founder of PayPad, expressed enthusiasm about the merger, stating, “HotelRunner is democratizing the use of technology for every player in the global ecosystem. As both teams share the same values, culture, and product principles, we are thrilled to join forces with HotelRunner and become part of its broad vision. PayPad, revamped as HotelRunner POS, will play a pivotal role in adding exponential value to properties worldwide, ushering in a new era of advanced sales solutions in travel and hospitality.”

This acquisition represents HotelRunner’s third strategic move in recent times, following the successful acquisitions of Istanbul-based Ratefor and HDN Global. The company also secured a substantial $6.5 million in Series A funding earlier this year, further fueling its expansion efforts.

Arden Agopyan, founder and Managing Partner of HotelRunner, affirmed the company’s commitment to shaping the future of the travel and hospitality industry, stating, “Our strategic acquisition of PayPad and the birth of HotelRunner POS aren’t merely about enhancing our product offerings; it’s a bold leap toward our vision of building a bigger travel economy. As we welcome HotelRunner POS into our expansive ecosystem as a foundational part, we solidify our presence in the payments and sales verticals in travel and hospitality. We’re proud to shape the path toward industry consolidation and usher in a transformative era, reinforcing our brand’s legacy.”

This merger between HotelRunner and PayPad holds the promise of delivering innovative solutions and driving industry advancement in the dynamic world of travel and hospitality technology. It underscores HotelRunner’s commitment to staying at the forefront of industry developments and providing holistic solutions for its global clientele.Developer Technology
