Vamo, a German Residential Heat Pump Provider, Secures €3M Seed Round
In a significant move towards advancing sustainable heating solutions in Germany, Vamo, a promising startup specializing in heat pump technologies, has successfully raised €3 million in a seed funding round. The financing was led by Neosfer, Commerzbank’s early-stage investment company, and received additional support from Realyze Ventures, Caesar Ventures, and prominent angel investors, including Hanno Heintzenberg, Valentin Sawadski, and Max Schroeren, who have founded successful ventures in the tech and real estate sectors.
Vamo was founded by a trio of visionaries, Laurenz Ohlig, Falk Hantl, and Dr. Jan Ossenbrink, who share a common goal: to accelerate the heat transition in Germany and promote the adoption of heat pump technologies. Heat pumps have emerged as a proven solution for decarbonizing the building sector, but the pace of their adoption in Germany has been relatively slow.
Christina Koch, Investment Manager at Neosfer, expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “Vamo fits well with our strategic direction and could help Commerzbank decarbonize its construction finance loan portfolio.” This partnership not only reflects the company’s commitment to sustainability but also showcases the potential for innovative solutions in the banking sector.
What sets Vamo apart is its holistic approach to heat pump adoption. The startup not only offers end-users high-quality heat pumps but also provides a comprehensive subscription service for air-to-water heat pumps, encompassing installation and maintenance. Vamo’s unique selling point lies in its dedicated in-house installation teams, ensuring top-notch service quality. Furthermore, the company is developing a cutting-edge software solution to intelligently control heating systems, optimizing the utilization of green energy from renewable sources like solar and wind, thereby reducing operational costs.
Vilor GmbH, operating under the Vamo brand, is a specialized heat pump company that covers all aspects, from sales and planning to financing, installation, and operation of air-to-water heat pumps. This multi-faceted approach positions Vamo as a game-changer in the heat pump industry, poised to drive the transition towards greener heating solutions in Germany.
With this substantial seed funding, Vamo is primed to make a significant impact on the heating landscape in Germany, bringing us one step closer to a sustainable and eco-friendly future.
