Sustainable Smart Home Startup Myenergi Raises £30 Million for Green Energy Expansion

In a significant stride towards promoting sustainable energy solutions, UK-based smart home energy startup, Myenergi, has secured an additional £30 million in funding. The latest investment comes from Energy Impact Partners (EIP) and further solidifies Myenergi’s commitment to greening our homes.

Founded in 2016, Myenergi specializes in equipping homes with cutting-edge green energy technology, offering a range of eco-conscious products. Notable among them is Zappi, a solar-compatible electric vehicle charger that enables homeowners to charge their cars using solar power. The Libbi, a smart home battery, allows households to store surplus solar electricity, reducing reliance on traditional grid power. The Eddi, a solar energy diverter, optimizes the use of solar-generated energy within the home.

This recent investment follows HSBC UK’s backing of Myenergi with a £30 million investment earlier this year, emphasizing the growing interest and trust in sustainable energy solutions. The new funding from EIP is poised to aid Myenergi in expanding its product offerings and services further.

Lee Sutton, co-founder of Myenergi, expressed his enthusiasm for the investment, stating, “The investment will help to deliver our next generation of product development and innovation, including our planned growth in grid services – such as demand side response, allowing us to better support our customers in undertaking their own home energy transition. We will also be investing in service excellence to ensure that our customers benefit from the best frontline support.”

Energy Impact Partners, a New York-based investment group, focuses on supporting companies that drive the transition to clean and sustainable energy solutions. Nazo Moosa, managing partner at EIP, praised Myenergi’s achievements, saying, “Zappi is already one of the leading charger brands in the UK and Ireland, and with the success of its Libbi energy storage product, we believe Myenergi is in pole position to become the leading Home Energy Management provider.”

Myenergi has not disclosed its valuation following this latest round of investment. Nonetheless, it is evident that Myenergi is steadily making a significant impact in the world of sustainable smart home technology, poised to revolutionize the way we power our homes and vehicles, while reducing our carbon footprint.
