Bisly Secures €3.6 Million Investment to Drive Sustainable Building Transformation
Bisly, an innovative startup dedicated to revolutionizing the construction industry and making eco-friendly buildings the new norm has successfully concluded a €3.6 million funding round. The investment was spearheaded by Aconterra, supported by Second Century Ventures, REACH UK, SmartCap Green Fund, and Pinorena Capital, along with contributions from numerous angel investors.
Bisly, headquartered in Tallinn, Estonia, specializes in enhancing the energy efficiency of residential and commercial properties. Collaborating with more than 25 real estate developers and funds, the company is on a mission to simplify the complex task of addressing climate change through intelligent building solutions.
CEO and Co-founder of Bisly, Siim Vips, emphasized the urgency of their mission, stating, “People are just becoming familiar with the concept of smart homes or smart buildings, and intelligent buildings go even a step beyond that. We are driven by a high degree of urgency and by the fact that our solution will get more buildings into sustainable operations in less time and less money than any other solution on the market.”
Bisly’s intelligent building platform extends the capabilities of smart buildings, integrating and optimizing functions like HVAC, lighting, and security in one unified platform. The global Intelligent Building market is rapidly growing, driven by factors such as high energy costs and ESG compliance, with a projected value of $148 billion by 2027.
The EU’s Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) has set ambitious carbon neutrality goals by 2050, mandating significant energy efficiency improvements in existing buildings. Currently, 75% of buildings in the EU do not meet the new standards, creating a pressing need for cost-effective solutions.
Bisly is disrupting a market dominated by legacy solutions that fail to meet budgetary constraints. Their open-standard technology reduces project costs and installation time with specially developed sensors and a secure software platform. Ron Schuermans, founding partner at Aconterra, praised Bisly’s commitment to building efficiency and expressed their support for the company’s global expansion.
Bisly’s unique approach combines manufacturing, installation, building management software, and digital twin infrastructure into one platform, reducing costs significantly. In Estonia, the company has already claimed over 25% of the market share in building automation.
The investment from Aconterra, Second Century Ventures, REACH UK, SmartCap Green Fund, and Pinorena Capital, along with the support of angel investors, underscores the potential of Bisly’s innovative approach to intelligent buildings. Tyler Thompson, Managing Partner of Second Century Ventures and REACH Global, highlighted the immense potential of intelligent building technology in achieving global net-zero goals.
Sille Pettai, Member of the Board and Fund Manager at SmartCap Green Fund, praised Bisly’s contribution to reducing the carbon footprint in the real estate sector and its commitment to mitigating climate change. Bisly’s funding success marks a significant step forward in the pursuit of sustainable and energy-efficient buildings, aligning with the growing global emphasis on environmental responsibility and energy efficiency.
